Look forward to seeing how all the 360 fanboys take this ( though tbh they're all probably dumb enough to pay more to play what they should be getting for free anyway)
They pay to play at the minute, so some extra charges on mummy and daddy's credit card isn't going to overly concern their little heads Bro.
Unless they were one of those million kiddies who chipped their Xpox's and got it banned from Xbox Live just as MW2 launched (double kick in the balls if you bought MW2 ). Then mummy and daddy might be kicking them up and down the fecking street and extra charges will be their last of their problems!

I just pissed off one of my oldest gaming buddies with this nice little bombshell, he bought the collectors edition for 360 ( with the NVgoggles which supposedly ain't too shabby), he's returning his copy of the game tomorrow and is badgering all his clanmates to do the same hehe

Good on him mate, it isn't just us PC gamers they are trying to screw over.
Now their sights are firmly set on the console folks too.

As well as the epic fail at preventing piracy and hacks, add this little nugget to IW/Activisions accomplishments
less than 2 weeks since release and already its been proved that dedicated support is piss easy to accommodate (and i would wager already most of the code is already included in the game).
So i think they planned to tout this feature as an additional bonus you could pay them for as well as the "privilege" of using their servers to host ( that way they could charge more but still limit the game as they would have control of their servers)

And you would wager correctly, a lot of the coding in the game is actually COD4 coding, check it out.
That said though, they kind of fecked up on proof reading the code which is evident when you see this pop up on your PC screen. Seriously IW come on to feck.
Incidentally Kyrp, further to our discussion last night about the Pay to play and DLC being planned. I happened upon a more recent interview on the subject that might assist you in the flame war you are engaged in on the other forum mate.

Lets hope that Activision's finest hour turns into their worst nightmare for pulling this stunt, going to restock on ammo for these console jockeys on the other forum, lets see how much of a bitchslapping they can take before they start crying hehe

I kind of hoped we would hear from someone who actually purchased the game and played it, a review perhaps or any counterpoint to those already made by those of us unconvinced by the direction IW has taken.
Come on Fishy, Moe, Jesus (those I know who played it), give us your opinions on IWNet, the ranking system, the hacks or W/E. Some feedback from you guys who are actually experiencing the game would be helpful in this discussion lads.
You are the folks with hands on experience, so we would like to hear your opinions!

I'm loving the game, surprisingly i like the system.(Not as much as Dedi-servers) The couple problems ive really run into is crappy hosting, like 1 out of 5 games have really bad lag and u have to leave. The ranking system i think has the most problems in the game. Im only level 15 and its putting me with level 60 players. (I still get the top of the list ). I havent run into any hacks yet. I love the guns, so much better than cod4. So overall I approve this game to be worthy, unless the pay 2 play comes into effect.

Thanks for your review Bro, obviously you guys actually playing the game are going to have a better idea of how it runs than those of us boycotting it. So your input is highly valuable to everyone as you have hands on experience.
I appreciate that you have few lagy games (its listen servers ...... so) but my concern is for those of us in smaller areas/countries not being able to get good connections. Basically due to IWNet if you are outside a major population centre, where people are actually playing the game, then who it decides to connect you with is going to be limited. Does the system even pick who has the best PC to host the game or is it a shite happens type thing?
Specifically as the PC end of the game dies down once the hype over the launch of the game has died down who will IW match me up with, and how crap will his PC be!
I reckon connection issues will become more of a problem. I think if you live in a large city then your chances of finding a server, within IW limitations, will be fine. However with IW holding all the cards, they can decide to kill the game at any time they fancy, next MW comes out and they kill the support and the servers for the game.
To me it is not a true PC game, and it will never be but if you guys are happy enough to play it, then fair play to ya. Just let the rest of us know your opinions of it and let us know if its worth getting when it ends up in the bargain bin at our local store.

Seen that on another site, goes to show that the coding is there in the game and all IW did was lock it down. There are other game modes, maps and extra stuff already written into the game code, perhaps to be released as part of your $20 DLC in the near future eh ..... even though its on those 2 discs you used to install the game already!
IW has responded swiftly to this with their latest patch though, they fixed it so the hacked ingame console is locked out. Well technically it still opens but you can't see it or what you type in it, so good job IW, do feck all about the cheats or the players with cracked games playing on IWNet but get rid of that annoying console.
And if that isn't enough fail in one sitting, apparently IWNet is being used to send trojans to peoples systems due to connecting to other peoples PC's and all those open ports. Cannot speak as to the facts of the case, nor verify them, but there is plenty posted on the net about this recent example of how hard IW has failed the PC community.

420 (that is the cnut Robert Bowling to those not in the know) has sounded the death bell for IW PC forums and started sacking Mods actually trying to serve the MW2 community. A thankless task and for bloody free too, which happens to be a lot less than what 420 is being paid.
I would like to link you to the IW forums for the conversation but its all been removed curiously enough, like most of those raising concerns pre-release of the game. Luckily enough some individuals over at Steam (tied into MW2 as you know) were industrious enough to catch most of what was going on.
Hit the link to see how much one person can fail at being a Community Manager, Community being the keyword in the job description BTW.

TBH this game, even though its been a smash hit, is so full of failcake that even the WoW noobs tend to shy away from it, MW2's only been saved by the countless flocks of mindless console jockeys that are too dumb to realise they're being set up to get every last penny squeezed out of them.
Personally i've written off MW2, it will never be installed on my rig nor touch my consoles, instead i'll look forward to the new Medal of Honor and hope they dont screw that ( or its original platform - i.e PC) up as badly as mw2 has been

Well we have guys playing it, so I think its right to keep them up to date with what is happening mate. So its for info purposes mainly but also because I am enjoying seeing how much this 420 can fcuk things up and still keep his job. Its like a bad accident on the motorway and I cant help myself from looking at it.
I had read about this upcoming MOH game being updated to modern day and stuff HERE.
Who knows, it could be a replacement game (the modern setting immediately sparks my interest) but as you mentioned earlier in another thread Bro, try before you buy. I think we PC gamers have been burnt too much already lately to be pinning any hopes on any future releases.
