So is BC2 mate but we all still bought that, hell some of us even play it occasionally.
Trust me though I am not building this thing up to be the saviour of FPS or even PC gaming, it is just with the latest failures (that I will list below) at least we can admire the eye candy that is on show. I think the graphics look pretty tight even if I won't buy the game.
Feck I never even played the original so am highly unlikely to buy the sequel, because as a rule "sequels always suck ass".
Games that where upcoming for this quarter and yet spectacularly failed....
Home Front - went with VAC and looks like BC2. = FAIL Breach - promised dedicated servers, ended up with PVP. = FAIL BulletStorm - promised so much and then went CO-OP only. = FAIL (I am sure I am missing some titles here, so the list may expand)
Future failures incoming include BF3 and of course the next instalment of COD, naturally. At least let me look at the pretty graphics of games yet to FAIL and share their many spectrum's of colours and beauty with others.

I may be corrected at a later date on this but my initial findings are that Crysis 2 is NOT just another console port but a multi-platform game.
The difference being that a multi-platform game is released for each platform but designed with that system in mind, whereas a console port is basicly copied from one platform to another with a bit of patching to try to accomodade different hardware and controls ( thats the easiest way i can explain it though it's not quite 100% accurate). I'm not holding out much hope but if things go half as well as expected we could very well have an actual PC game to play!
I've not done much gaming recently but i'm hoping to throw down some pain soon ( RL getting in the way). Off the top of my head there are very few titles to get excited about, planned for release soon, the best of which is probably Dungeons ( which is a spiritual sucessor to the awesome Dungeon Keeper) though fps junkies wont like it as its more RTS.

I did solely concentrate on FPS games in my list, as I myself am a self confessed FPS junkie. You have to admit there are no decent FPS games on the horizon any longer, and those that were meant to be the next best thing since sliced bread have failed spectacularly.

VAC is not my only resistance to this game Bro, nor that it is tied into fecking Steam. It is the fact that this looks like a pure port from the Xbox, it has been made and designed for that platform. I know a few PC guys that are looking forward to it but I think its dead before release, and I am quite happy for them to test it out, as in the end its the community reviews that lift or sink a game.
I have to admit though, if the promised PC features are delivered it may actually have a leg up on BC2 (another console port) in certain respects. However as a proper competitive MP game it will never work, same as BC2. Time will tell!

Not really paid much attention to Brink because again it is co-op and fecking stinks of console evilness, but then thats just me mate. I will certainly have a look and dig out some info on it before making up my mind, I had already seen some trailers online though hence my lack of attention.

i still hold hopes for BF3 i mean, no support for XP, the engine is based mainly for DX11 which only PC can do ATM. thers said to be 64 player servers for PC and less for our lower primate bretherin, its sounding like its in favour for PC if im honest. all im saying is dont shoot it down when we dont enough about it to say "yea, its shit and is gonna epic fail" i dont care if it might look like a reskinned BC2 (which it shouldnt thanks to the DX11 capabilitys) if its anything like number 2 it will pwn the multiplayer market for PC (apart from your WOW nerds wackin off to fairys) MAYBE even COD but unlikely thanks to the thick cunts and lower primates that enjoy linear and run n gun fagatory. lets give it a chance.
EDIT: forgot to add this:
YOU AINT GOT NO PANCAKE MIX!!!

BF3 isn't high on my list of games to get, sounds like a carbon copy of BF2 with a new engine and a singple player campain tacked on.
64 players? a bit weak when compared to the ps3 title M.A.G and its 256 player maps ( and we all know consoles are inferior). jets? - did the forget why they got removed in the first place? /facepalm This seems like usual EA fare in my mind, by which i mean they'll release any old shit under an already established name in an attempt to grab some extra cash from the masses ( not convinced? just look at the need for speed franchise).
Call me pessamistic but unless EA are sitting on some grade A gimmicks for the game, i dont see great things instore for this title.
I'm not blowing it out of the water before it's sailed, but i'm not lining up to grab a ticket either, only time will tell if its worth getting or not.

Looks like Crysis will be rolling with the whole Trusted Provider crap that blighted BC2, so expect a monopoly on server prices and overloaded racks by the bucket load.
Oh and expect some more bad news on the MP side of things when they limit the number of players online ladies.

Report: Crysis 2 Leaked
Almost 45 days before the scheduled release date, a complete build of Crysis 2 is freely available to people who frequent illegal download interwebsites.
According to a thread at Facepunch.com, the full code for Crytek's shooter sequel set in New York City, including multiplayer and the code key to deal with the online DRM, was posted today.
No one is sure where the leak came from, but it's especially damaging because the game is near to being declared gold and shipping to retailers. If the code is recent, it's basically the game that everyone will be playing if they purchase the disc. Crysis 2 is set to come out for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on March 22nd.
"So a late developement build of Crysis 2 has gone up on certain sites, it includes the full game, including multiplayer," said user Tom Costello from the Facepunch forums. "It also includes the DRM Solidshield master key files, which only fracking handles the online activation.
"Crytek are going to be so fracking mad," he concluded.

Per a post over on FacePunch, the leak contains the full game, multiplayer included, as well as the game’s DRM files.
No word yet on how this happened, but it has. Which is a shame. Remember kids, it’s only cool to be a pirate if you look like Johnny Depp.
You can read about it in various places, but head on over to RPS for more.
EA’s response on the matter to Kotaku was:
“Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22.
“Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.”
Crysis 2 releases on March 22 in the US and March 25 in the UK for PS3, 360 and PC.

ISP's can watch all they want, most torrent sites and users have the brains to protect themselves from prying eyes.
"Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.”
Piracy isn't as harmfull as officals would like you to believe and the actual game developers/publishers have done more harm to the development community than piracy ever has. This is a perfect opportunity for a rant, but i dont have the energy, lets just say this comment is full of shit and leave it at that

No need to rant mate, they fecking leak it and then try to blame the PC community.
They can kiss my hairy plums instead of trying to pass the blame onto my community they can accept full liability, as no one but themselves is responsible for leaking it.

The time has come for PC gamers to take their best shot in Crysis 2 multiplayer. Available for download at http://crysis.ea.com and other partner sites on March 1, the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo includes two stunning maps, two adrenaline-filled modes, and hours of multiplayer action. In the demo, PC gamers will master the game’s signature Nanosuit, which allows them to be strong, be invisible, be fast and become the ultimate weapon.
Players will compete in six vs. six matches set against a war-torn Manhattan in two maps: “Skyline”, set on top of the rooftops and interiors of skyscrapers, and “Pier 17”, an open environment with limited cover. The demo also features two modes: “Team Instant Action” pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to win the round and “Crash Site,” where players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.
For more information on the two maps included in the demo, you can check out MyCrysis.com's "Map Focus" feature on Pier 17 and Skyline.
Oh and you can now pre-order servers for Crysis but as I hinted earlier, bad news on the MP front is that they are limited to 16 players.
