| got a fecking virus/ malware on my gaming rig . it won't let me get onto internet to try to find something to get rid of it. i ran spy bot, avast, a squared (all on hard drive), and none of them get rid of it., i had to run those programs from safemode. Tried to get online from safe mode with networking but no go. any suggestions? | |

| without internet access, even on another comp theres little you can do but wipe in my experience, however if you can get access or know someone who does, get a usb memory stick/pen drive or w/e and download Trojan remover and give that a go, its a trial unless you buy it but still works.
Unfortunatly without more info on the actual virus ( exe name etc) i cant really recommend much more than you've already tried, except maybe malware bytes.
Also has it killed you internet 100% or just to certain sites ( you got on here somehow afterall) also what symptoms are you getting ( popups and so on) the more info you give the more we can narrow things dawn, a hijack this log might help too if you have it

That's probably the best you can do mate, without actually knowing which specific virus you have its hard to recommend a specific tool to use to remove it. I am assuming it is only hijacking your system when you go online? If so you should be able to load up progs like trojan remover/ Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (free)/ SUPERAntiSpyware (free) and AVG (free) onto your system from a USB drive and run them without going online to try and track the little fecker down and kill it. This should be a timely reminder to all to back up your gaming profiles on a regular basis gents, this may end up as a complete HD wipe if none of the tools fix it or we can't find a work around.

| i was able to get rid of it with trojan remover finally... the reason i couldnt get online is because in internet options-->connections--> lan settings--> use a proxy was checked lol...i didn't even think of that earlier | |
