Nice vid, I have heard the demo has now been pushed back to January (was to be released this month).
Will definitely be giving the demo a run when its finally out.

Surprised you didn't know about the upcoming demo Fishy mate.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC beta starts early 2010
Battlefield: Bad Company 2's associate producer and dedicated server of official blog updates, Gordon Van Dyke, has assured fans that the PC beta will still happen -- though later than expected. "With the huge success of the PS3 Beta we decided to drastically increase the PC Beta's capacity to insure as many people as possible could participate," Van Dyke wrote. "Unfortunately this meant we had to delay the Beta to very early next year giving us more planning time to make it happen and implement more optimizations."
The PC version of DICE's first-person, military-person shooter will boast full support for DirectX 11, a maximum of 32 active players (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions go up to 24), clans, friend lists and dedicated servers, which is that controversial thing we referenced in the previous paragraph.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will arrive on store shelves in March 2, 2010. It's the one that ups the lone-soldier-walking-towards-you ante with some helicopters, a tank and another soldier that is slightly farther away.
Seems someone over at Dice ain't afraid to let us try before we buy, unlike IW.

They sure seem to be cashing in on the mistakes of IW Bau. In fact as soon as IW announced no Dedicated Servers in MW2 they were right there after them stating publicly that BFBC2 would have them and all the usual PC features.
Its bad for IW but its good for us.
Though it is DICE after all, just another company out to make money so lets hope it doesn't turn into another clusterfcuk ........... and keep our fingers crossed for good measure.

Lets all try the demo before we get over excited ladies, there is still room for a feck up here (hard to be on the scale of the IW feck up however) but still!
Lets just wait and see before running around swinging our underwear over our heads all overjoyed, like when the first news was released on MW2 being the latest and greatest upcoming PC title.
Oh wait, that may just of been me.

unless simon has a ATI 58xx series card hes willing to give ya your gonna be runnin it in direct x 10. and since the Nvidia 3xx series cards arnt out till (apparently) Q3/4 of 2010, ati are the only cards atm with dx11 support and even then your gonna be paying 200+. when this comes out ill get it and be playing maxxed out minus dx11 since its bound to support SLI, which im running so ill be happy. ill wait for the demo as slaine has suggested.
system requirements compared to my system:

And on that note, I read today that DICE had been asked previously if PB will be present in the game and as yet there has been no response from either them or EvenBalance.
I mentioned a clusterfuck in my quoted statement above, but I also mentioned keeping your fingers crossed folks.
Anything but fecking VAC please DICE!

This is another game i'm not holding much hope for tbh, Bad Company was a console game that never graced the PC as far as i know, so theres a good chance that BC2 is going to be just another console port, and in all honest, the amount of console ports (esp FPS ones) that have made a sucessfull jump across platforms can be counted on your fingers ( that means less than 10 for those too drunk to count )
However i've been surprised before and this may be one of those games that handles the platform jump well, we can only wait and see, this is one that gets the try before buy treatment .

Well the PC online MP Beta launched today (technically yesterday my time) ladies, apparently it is a map called Port Valdez (Alaska apparently), a vehicle-friendly environment that can host up to 32 players on PC. However it is a closed Beta at this stage, so only those with keys can actually play ............ so far.
That little nugget of info appears on their website, although I ain't logged onto EA in a long fecking time I am hoping I have a key waiting. Some of the download link sites are giving Beta keys to their subscribers but considering all the download mirrors are full, those may already be gone.

STEP 4: Enter the unique PC Beta Code during the login process to authenticate your participation in the Beta. You will not be able to play or access any multiplayer menus without being authenticated.
So anyone got it yet and given it a run?
Concerned about their being no server streaming support, but the new Rush game mode looks sweet. Bit MW2 looking only with dedicated servers and less lag, and the streaming side of things may be sorted out with time.

I'm praying EA have learned how to release a game ( ie when its ready not when the deadline arrives) and that they've learned by the fubar that is mw2, but having had issues with them in the past i'll be awaiting reviews from people before i decide to buy or not. I've always been suspicious about this title as the original is a console only i still think the odds of this being yet another sub-standard console port are fairly high ( though i'm secretly hoping that my fears turn out to be wrong and that the game will kick ass, in which case i'll also pray my rig can handle it hehe)

Downloading my copy of the Beta as I type, will report back in due course.
All I had to do was pre-order the game off Play.com to get my Beta key, if its crap I will just cancel the pre-order and I will have got to play the game anyway.

Cancel that Amazon order and pre-order through Play.com mate. It is probably cheaper and you will get your beta key within 24 hours.

Not had the chance to play it yet myself, but from what I hear its pretty hot.

Good luck with that, its pretty locked down mate.

Didn't think you would find a way around it mate, and I assume the complicated reasons would be you don't have your own credit card yet.

Well if it makes you feel any better mate, I have been playing the demo and its fecking great.
It is basically BF2 with destructible environments as far as I can see, with the same game play concept of capturing/defending strategic points on the map (can only play the Rush game mode). It runs pretty smoothly on my machine and the graphics look flawless.
More good news, and something that has brightened my day, is the fact that Dice is now working hand in hand with PBB to sort out the streaming issue. That was one major factor that was me holding me back from buying the game, so if they fix that then I will certainly be looking to pick this title up.
