I never heard of them until recently mate when they popped up on the Kerrang music channel. It was all bleeped out to hell and back so I knew I had to find an uncensored version to find out what was being said.

A radio station had a private concert of steel panther that I could of gone to for 20 bucks, but my mom didn't like the way they dressed and hid the tix. *shoots himself*
