new build or new gfx card?

So my gfx card is dead, should I just rebuilt a new rig or replace the gfx card?

Current cpu and ram = 3.07ghz quad core processor (AMD Athlon II x4 630)
8gb RAM

I'm thinking new rig, but it's gonna cost a fortune (though I can use the wifes gaming laptop for a bit) which i don't really have considering the costs I've just paid in moving house, but I don't want to waste cash getting a new gfx card if I'm just going to replace it when I rebuild.
Thoughts?

do you have any more ram slots? maybe add ram

but...the quad cores are getting outdated...i upgraded to an i5 a few months ago

If you are gonna build a new rig then the gfx card is a wasted pound mate, concentrate on the new rig thats where you need the cash. IMHO obviously. :p

If your looking towards playing the latest/upcoming games, needs to be a new rig...

Buy a new gpu and see how it handles even a last gen nvidia (780/970) and if it struggles build your system around the gpu, 8gb ram is still enough @ 1080p. Lucky your amd and prolly have a cheap upgrade for that socket available if it does struggle but id start with gpu as its the cheaper option and if you need to rebuild new use it as the platform to start the new build instead of replacing with the new build


@ bauhaus - i5 is a quad core and certainly not outdated for gaming.
