Very Important. Read this

I was checking my hotmail tonight, as I do every other week or so, and noticed I had an email from Monster. Tad concerned as I know that sites dodgy right off the bat, so I am posting this in case anyone else receives a similar email, do not click on the fecking link and do not log into that site. I have copied the emails below for your information ladies, forewarned is forearmed.

Email addresses have been edited, in case we wish to move this thread into the public domain to protect non DD members later.

This is the email I received.

Just to let you know mate I am fairly certain that is a virus that will hijack your MSN account and then spam the exact same message to your contacts. Thus spreading itself to everyone on your contact list. It is also likely a phishing site that asks you to "log in" to see who is blocking you then steals all your details. Including all your emails with MSN, so if you ever used your credit card in connection with your hotmail account ........ they now have it!

Its an old one, so I can't remember the exact details but is definitely not legit!

If you sent it yourself, then nice try .................... but epic fail.

If you didn't then you or someone with access to your MSN account went there and you now have a virus attached to your MSN. I would strongly recommend running some scans on your system to check.

Yeah its an old one mate, but it seems to be doing the rounds again judging by that email. I believe it started out in France (cheese eating surrender monkeys) in the late 90's, then went global after 2000. Been a while since I seen it rear its head, to be honest was a bit surprised to see it still doing the rounds.

Would rather warn any of our members not familiar with it, than have them fall foul of it ................... and me get spammed with emails wanting to know if I want to know who blocked me. They block me, then fcuk em. I got bigger things to worry about.

Well I assume he has already lost his MSN account mate, but that account is the only contact details I have for him.

I did what I could to warn him once I seen what was going on. Once he realises his MSN is compromised he will run the appropriate scans and get his system sorted out hopefully.

Decided to move this into the public domain, only fair all our forum members are as forewarned as our squad members.

Was just clearing out my Hotmail again and found a very positive and gracious reply from Monster, thanking me for letting him know his MSN was compromised and was being used to send spam and spread a virus.

Don't take this Personal but to tell you the Truth you know me Better than that and you know I wouldn't do that to you or anyone else ( I wouldn't waste my Time with it. )

So let's go with the Spam thing Seeing I don't really use my MSN so all is Good on that and the Sarcasm was really unwarranted after 10 year's of Gaming and such we are both above and beyond the kid's stuff of hacking so lets just move on OK.

Other than that Stay cool catch you around when the new Game comes out I am Sure.
