'Healthy' man, 25, dies playing Wii Fit
A 'fit and healthy' 25-year-old man collapsed and died in front of his girlfriend while playing Wii Fit.
Tim Eves was playing Wii Fit's jogging game, which requires the player to jog on the spot, when he slumped to the floor.
His girlfriend Emma Tuck and friend Lewis Hickin called an ambulance and tried to revive Mr Eves. Despite their efforts and those of paramedics, he was declared dead on arrival at hospital.
Mr Eves died on March 4, just hours after returning from Portugal where he had been celebrating his mother's 50th birthday.
His mother June said: "We spoke to him on the phone when he was playing on the Wii machine.
"But a little while after he had put the phone down, he collapsed for no reason. It was completely out of the blue."
Mr Eves, who was a scout leader and enjoyed cycling and fishing, had been fit and well.
Although the cause of death remains unidentified, his family have been told he could have been killed by Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. This is a disorder of the electrical system of the heart that can cause death in apparently healthy people without warning.
Tim's father said: "Tim packed so much into the 25 years that even if he had lived another 25 years he couldn’t possibly have made any more friends.
"We all loved him so much."
A post-mortem has been held but the cause of death is yet to be determined.
