Planit Side 2?

Anyone ever heard of this? Its a MMO, not usually my cup of tea but am hearing good things about the Beta..

Been hearing nothing but about Planet Side 2 lately to be honest mate (and a little DayZ too I guess). In fact its mentioned in just about every BF3 thread over on the PC Gamer website.

For a real run down I would suggest heading over to PC Gamer MMO Section. They have a hell of a lot of info on it.

I thought DayZ looked really good.. i like the concept..

oh i was thinking of War Z, DayZ(arma 2 mod) is ight but not very compelling

I've been in the PS2 beta since it went live - though i've not played it nearly as much as i would like to. Overall it's a kick ass game ( despite being free-to-play) with a total emphasis on teamwork.
I dont mean on a squad level either - basicly your entire faction has to work together or you get nowhere.

The whole point it to invade a contitnent and take it over one base at a time - sounds simple but when you have 2 factions ganking eachother inside compounds it generally becomes a huge firefight with the win going to the faction with the better teamwork.
If you want to run around solo - this game is not for you.

It's not really an MMO as there is no questing, only full on fps battle - it's only MMO like quality is that you upgrade you soilder by getting kills, which give you points to use to unlock new weapons, armour, vehicles and so on.

Basicly - it's going to be a great game but being a SOE title has a high probability of becoming pay to win at some point down the line.
I'll hold off judgement until it goes live and i get round to giving it a whirl.

Just a heads up - if anyone wants to give this a whirl i have a spare key to the beta test. 1st come 1st served.

PS2 is now live, free to play so give it a whirl ladies and decide for yourselves - personally it's the closest thing to M.A.G the pc is likely to see ( which is a shame as i still rate M.A.G as the best fps online shooter i've played, and ashamed to say it's a console only game).
