Thats fightin talk where i come from Tribes ( not only released way before Halo and section 8 ) basicly shits on every other team-based fps mmo game i've ever played ( and thats a hell of alot), from a height so great it has it's own atmosphere. If it wasn't for it's very aged graphics and the god-awful sequel ( which most of the community jumped to - effectivly killing off the original) i can say with all honesty that i would probably still be playing it at a competetive level today. For a glimps at what it was like try out http://www.legionsoverdrive.com/which again is fre to play and not the worst mimic of Tribes gameplay i've played | |

| Just a heads up for anyone interested. The beta has gone to Open so anyone can give it a whirl and test the waters ( just make an account and DL the client). Also any progress made in the beta stated will be kept and transferred over when the game goes live, which is nice. | |

| I have been following what has been going on with this game via PC Gamer, it certainly looks interesting, all I need to do is find some time to try the fecking thing out.

| I know that feeling bro. It made PCgamers top 10 must play games last issue ( not the one with the diablo3 key) so it must be doing something right. | |

| Just to make sure it wasn't a total cluster, i made a dummy account to play from scratch, seems possible to play with the bare kit until you get enough xp points to unlock more classes. Personally the 1st thing i'd unlock is the Raider class as even without upgrades they can be realy twats to contend with. If in doubt, run though a training map, all classes are useable even if you havent unlocked em ( probably to give you more incentive to buy stuff). Anyhoo i'm off back to scotland for a week to see the parent so you have some time | |
